Camshafts Helix and Spartan Camshafts
The Helix and Spartan cams have been redesigned for 2012. Several vehicles are running the new grinds with great results and the HP levels are up.
The latest turbo technology has allowed us to make changes that really were not possible when the original Helix was designed. The days of Hx35 and Hx40 turbos are long gone.
For original purchasers of a Helix 2 or Helix 3 Cummins camshaft we are starting a program to grind our latest designs for little to no cost. The grinding service is free, you pay the shipping. Please have your original sales receipt.
BMW N57 I-6 Diesel camshafts coming soon
BMW S85 V-10 petrol camshafts coming soon
ZDDP Heavy ZDDP anti-wear Oil AdditiveWe custom blend and bottle this additive at our shop in large batches. Our one quart bottle is enough for three oil changes or one new cam break-in. Most modern oils will be boosted to 2000 plus parts per million of ZDDP. This high level is needed for breaking in flat tappet camshafts. ZDDP concentrations this high can agglomerate into crystals that looks much like sugar in the bottle . Shake the bottle well before pouring. Perfect for new engine break-ins tooThe bottles, the chemicals, and the blender are all made in the USA (-:
Billet Tappets Spartan Billet Steel Tappets. These tappets were designed to be used with a steel camshaft. They feature a 33mm diameter base for added wear surface but have no clearance issues in any B series engine with fuel pump lobes, etc. The body is made from induction hardened, forged steel and has a fusion bonded hard metal base of carbide alloy. This surface is harder than tool steel and has a higher wear and abrasion resistance. This gives them the highest compatibility with steel camshafts available. They can be re-used over and over again and moved from engine to engine without concern.
Valve Springs
Pro/Sportsman Valve Springs
Constructed of chrome vanadium steel, triple shot peened, and coiled from ovate wire these springs are all any Cummins engine will need for boost pressures up to 110 lbs.
They are a perfect combination to the Spartan Billet cam and tappets
Stock springs are 80 lbs on the seat and 179 lbs with the valve fully open using the stock cam. Our springs are 93 lbs and 240 lbs respectively.
They yield 480 lbs of total pressure on the cam lobe at full lift once you consider the parallel condition of the 24 valve design. Keeping pressures under 500 lbs is key to long term durability of the rocker trunions and cam lobes.
Always in stock and Made in the USA
FAQ FAQ
1. How do I contact F1 Diesel? For purchasing, please see our Distributors link at the bottom of this page. Our distributors have a wider range of knowledge on what products work best with thousands of set ups and parts combinations. Their experience far outpaces what we can provide simply because they install parts and service so many different vehicles. For emergency situations, to resolve a complaint, or for technical questions we can be reached weekdays during the hours of 10 AM and 3 PM Central standard time at 903-327-8001. 2. Does F1 Diesel perform installation of its products? Yes and No. While we do not offer typical installation services in most situations we can be helpful with some. An example would be a beta test product that is not quite ready for public sale or perhaps a special project for competition. We have helped build some of the fastest vehicles in the country in the past and have a few special projects going now. 3. How long has F1 Diesel been in business? Full time work began in 2002. Prior to that, part time work started back in 2000. Injectors , cylinder head porting and runner extrude honing started in 2003. Camshafts began late 2004. 4. How do I become a dealer for F1 Diesel products? Along with the expansion of the Diesel performance market we have been contacted by many shops and businesses on how to purchase our products. While we have enjoyed watching the growth, not all the players have been ethical throughout the years. We are always looking for good shops and people who have experience and a solid, reputable business. If your serious about starting a new relationship please contact us at the number above. 5. Why is F1 Diesel always backlogged on work? This has been an ongoing issue mostly because we have had a huge demand and the capacity to handle the demand was just not there. We are happy to say that with the addition of full time employees we have been keeping up with demand and even had some weekends off!
